Muhyi al-Din Ibn Arabi was the most influential Sufi mystic-philosopher in Islamic history. His concept of wahdat al-wujud (unity of being) — that all existence is a manifestation of the one divine reality — remains the most sophisticated metaphysical system in Islamic thought.
His influence spans Sufism, Islamic philosophy, and comparative mysticism. He was controversial in his time and remains so.
