Amin seized power in 1971 and ruled Uganda for 8 years of terror. He expelled 80,000 Asians, killed an estimated 300,000 Ugandans, and gave himself the title 'His Excellency, President for Life, Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Idi Amin Dada, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Seas and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular.' He lived in Saudi exile until 2003.
