Ferruccio Lamborghini was a tractor manufacturer who bought a Ferrari, complained about the clutch, was dismissed by Enzo Ferrari ('You're a tractor maker. What do you know about sports cars?'), and founded Lamborghini to prove him wrong. The Miura, Countach, and later models became icons.
